Checkered Smile

In the name of Allah, compassionate & merciful بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Peace be with you السلام عليكم

I love this outfit but I don't have the guts to wear it out in public. Right now I am STILL hiding in my husbands sweatshirts and sweatpants. I really did want to change my wardrobe so that I could feel better but I am pregnant and my clothes just don't fit any more. Plus I don't want to buy clothes I will not fit in a couple of months from now. You see, when I buy something I wear it for YEARS. Any advice for a preggers sis?

You can buy some of those fashionable knit tunics 2 to 3 sizes bigger that you could wear during and after pregnancy. Knit elastic waist skirts 1 or 2 sizes bigger should do the trick as well. Knit fabrics always make you look slimmer even if they are big, because they just hang and are not bulky.

I firmly believe maternity wear is long lasting -- from pregnancy, nursing and beyond. They are usually more durable than other clothing and more practical. I don't think I've thrown out any of my maternity clothing EVER.

Elasticised waists may seem a bit unseemly but they're undeniably comfortable and most of the tops are really modest and long in length. If in doubt, buy one size up.

The good thing about maternity clothing is that it's your actual size -- it just has give or room to accomodate growth. The *perfect* clothing, imo.

My mum reckons I'm really lucky in this day and age because, back in her day, maternity wear was practically unknown whereas I can just buy from Target or Kmart and they have amazing range.

I love this outfit btw! But I'd go with a black hijab just to blend in with everything else. I'm so not a risk taker. Totally adore that that charm bracelet.
